Easter table design trends for the sustainable home

Easter is a time of renewal and celebration, and what better way to honour the season than by gathering around the table with your loved ones. A chance to get the whole gang together and catch up, feast and welcome the arrival of Spring’s longer days.

Laying the table for Easter celebrations is the ultimate chance to showcase your creativity. From layering with natural textiles, mix-and-matching patterns with your napkins and tablecloths, and bringing nature indoors through a decorated Easter branch, tablescaping is an artistic expression that I just can’t get enough of!

Here’s a guide to what I’ll be doing on my Easter table this year, and we have set this design up in our Totnes shop window for anyone who is local and wants to take a look.

Folk Interiors Easter 2024 Table Design Trends

Big Patterned Textiles

Big patterns are an everlasting trend here at Folk Interiors, and one that’s not going away for 2024. We’ve introduced a wonderful new brand to our collection this spring, meet Haomy. I discovered this brand at Maison&Objet in Paris in January and immediately fell in love with their bold table linen prints.

Tablecloths can make a big impact on your overall look so don’t skip this step. Our new Haomy Linen Tablecloth in Large Check Citrus will be a gorgeous backdrop to your Easter table design and is available in three sizes. We have some other smaller check options too and some block colour designs if that’s more your thing.

I’ll be pairing this bold check in its fitting spring yellow hue with Haomy’s new-this-season napkins, which also conveniently double up as placemats! I love to mix and match patterns together for an eclectic statement. So I’ll be going with Haomy Gingham Citrus Linen Napkin / Placemat and Haomy Large Check Citrus Linen Napkin / Placemat

Easter Table Design

We also have Haomy’s new Linen Tea Towels in Citrus or Olive which will tie the whole design together with a pop of colour in your kitchen, and their Linen Aprons are something special too with a very flattering shape. All of their products are 100% linen and feel amazing to the touch. As you can tell, I’m a big fan over here, and so happy we can bring this brand to you.

Wooden Tableware

Next up, tableware! The Haomy table linen pairs perfectly with another new product from Tine K Home. Their Teak Tree Plate is handmade in Indonesia from the root of the teak tree. The organic material gives a warm feeling and the series has a rustic look, which is beautiful in combination with ceramic.

A Touch of Nature

As Easter is so connected to nature and the arrival of Spring, I always love to use this event to gather some natural branches from the woods and arrange them into a tall vase (this new House Doctor Amber Vase will be perfect), and use them to hang seasonal items. Pictured is the Maileg Ornament Lamb which is a charming ornament we’ve brought in for Easter, as well as the hugely popular new Maileg Chicken and Maileg Bunny, which have been flying off the shelves! They’re totally adorable and are a great investment that can be brought out year after year.

No Easter table is complete without some Spring blooms! I love tulips and hellebores at this time of the year. You can put little stem vases dotted around the table with one or two stems to bring a splash of colour, or a single vase in the centre if you are tight on space will also look amazing.

And not Forgetting

Also new this Spring is one of my favourite products I’ve found in a long while. I also found these at the show in Paris in January and placed an order straight away - I'm talking about new cutlery from Tine K Home

Featuring a timeless design with a matt finish, our TineKhome cutlery is made from 18/8 stainless steel, which makes the cutlery a high-quality metal that can withstand most types of corrosion without trouble. The cutlery is also larger than average which looks super premium, and not to mention the weight!

Don’t forget to consider glassware, our collection includes HKLiving and Broste Copenhagen Smoke or Amber Glassware, all of which will pair wonderfully with this table design.

House Doctor also has this brushed brass Trivet which adds the final touch to the table.

Thanks for reading what I have planned for my Easter table this year, I hope you’ve been inspired and have some ideas of your own.

My parting comment is… make sure you leave some space for the food!
